Advanced E-learning Instructional Design Certificate Awarded
Ayesha Habeeb Omer, the Chief Operating Officer of CommLab India has successfully completed the Advanced E-learning Instructional Design Certificate conducted by Michael Allen of Allen Interactions. ASTD Certificate Programs are learning events and a certificate is awarded to participants upon successful completion of the program.
The workshop was conducted at Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA on June 1-2, 2007 just prior to the ASTD International Conference & Expo.
The certificate program redirects and narrows the focus of instructional design to those things that matter most in creating successful e-learning: effective ways to design meaningful, memorable, and motivational experiences, while blending in successful behavioral change principles. Based on dozens of research studies, these principles help design learning events that go far beyond the transmission of information to achieve behavioral change and targeted performance levels. The program teaches how to counter change inhibitors, design pre-instructional events, blend formal and informal learning, use techniques for performance change, create performance aids, and space learning events.
This workshop was attended by people of different backgrounds and experienced in training and performance who wanted to deepen their skills in e-learning instructional design: managers, developers, designers, instructors, courseware producers.
The content of the workshop is based on the second book in Michael Allen's E-Learning Library--Designing Successful E-Learning: Forget What You Know About Instructional Design and Do Something Interesting. Dr. Michael Allen, who was the facilitator, is the primary architect of Authorware, the founder and former chairman of Authorware, Inc. - which merged with Macromind/ Paracompto form Macromedia, Inc. and the CEO of Allen Interactions Inc.
