"eLearning by Universities with Special Reference to India" - A Pioneering Research

Hyderabad, India - April 24, 2007 - Ayesha Habeeb Omer, the Chief Operating Officer of CommLab India has successfully completed doctoral studies on the subject, "eLearning by Universities, with special reference to India". Based on her thesis submitted and defense at the viva voce, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India has awarded her PhD in Management.

The research identified the factors to be considered by universities before venturing into eLearning. These factors are summarized into five categories - sociological, environments, financial, technological and content.

After examining the factors, a checklist is prepared for the benefit of newcomers who wish to start eLearning. This checklist will serve as a self-assessment tool to check the readiness of universities to venture into eLearning. The checklist prepared is an outcome of the responses given by foreign and Indian universities which have already launched eLearning.

The report is extremely useful to any educational institution that has intentions of entering the eLearning mode of delivering educational courses.
