Each course had to meet jurisdiction-specific standards – GDPR, EU data privacy, US SEC – while engaging professionals who had no tolerance for passive, checkbox-style modules.
Courses also needed full localization in French and German, not just translation. And because Annual Compliance and New Joinee/New Hire content overlapped significantly across both regions, building six independent courses would be redundant and costly.
Scenario-based eLearning for High-Stakes Compliance
CommLab India assembled a 14-person team – 4 instructional designers, 3 visual designers, 7 developers – to drive design, development, and delivery while the client focused on content accuracy.
The core approach: put learners in real decisions. Every course was built around scenarios drawn from actual investment management contexts – AFC red flags, GDPR data-handling moments, onboarding policy choices – with consequence-driven feedback tied directly to the applicable regulation.
To avoid duplicate development, CommLab India built one base Annual Compliance course per region, then adapted it into the New Hire/New Joinee version – same regulatory accuracy, reduced overhead.
MidJourney sketch-style visuals gave each course a polished, editorial look. AI voiceovers in Articulate Storyline delivered consistent narration across all three languages, with French and German handled through cultural adaptation, not word-for-word substitution.
